Joesph James “Jim” Mallick, Sr. age 59 of Hibbing died tragically Thursday, December 31, 2009 as the result of injuries sustained in an accident. He was born April 16, 1950 in Minneapolis, the son of Francis and Marion (O’Connell) Mallick, and married Alice Dixon on January 15, 1973 in Puyallup, WA. Jim was an honorably discharged veteran of the US Army, serving in Viet Nam; and was a longtime resident of Hibbing.
Jim is survived by his wife of 36 years: Alice; children: Joesph James (Amanda Jean Koski) Mallick, Jr. of Oak Park Heights, MN, Angela (Boone) Przybylski of Aurora, MN, Robert Francis (Kassie Callahan) Mallick, Sr. of Kelly Lake, Timothy Wayne Mallick of Hibbing, and Christina Lynn (Russ Lucente) Campbell of Kerr Location; siblings: Michael S. Mallick of Fridley, MN, Joan Gillespie of Washington, and Frances Gunderson of Minneapolis; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: David Van Dixon Mallick; and sisters: Barbara and Judy.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2009 in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home in Hibbing. Pastor Dan Erickson will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment with Military Honors accorded will follow the service in the Chisholm Cemetery.
