Biography

Wayne George Charles Boldt, age 87, of Fergus Falls, MN and formerly of Hibbing, died Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Lakeland Hospice House in Fergus Falls. He was born January 25, 1922 in Lake Itasca, MN, the son of Martin and Elvira Boldt, and attended school in Hibbing. Wayne was an Army Veteran of WWII and married Anne Mihelich in June 1942. He was employed by US Steel Sherman Mine & Minntac as an electrician, a truck driver, and in engineering; and was an active member of the Hibbing Alliance Church. Wayne had a servant heart and enjoyed volunteering at the Church. He also enjoyed building, hunting and fishing, and cherished the time he spent with his family.
Wayne is survived by daughters: Judith Anne (Jim) Tanner of Columbia, SC and Brenda (Ronnie) Whitlock, Sr. of Fergus Falls, MN; siblings: Freda Sanders of Hibbing and Faith Sygorney of Springfield, MO; grandchildren: Johnny Neumann, Jorge (Jody) Neumann, Jacqueline (Greg) Tate, Ronnie “R.J.” Whitlock Jr., Rosemary Anne Whitlock, and Denise (Steve) Dirnberger; great-grandchildren: Kelsey, Ashley, Lauren, Joshua, Jacob, Blaine, & Shelby; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Anne; sons: John and Daryl Boldt; and brothers, sisters, stepbrothers, and stepsisters.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 3 pm until 5 pm in the Anderson Daniels Funeral Home in Hibbing. Visitation will continue Monday, January 18, 2009 from 12 Noon until the 1 p.m. Funeral Services in the Hibbing Alliance Church. Reverend Kevin L. Norton will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hibbing Park Maple Hill Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred and may be directed to the Gideons or the Lakeland Hospice House.
