Lawrence Lee Gustafson
September 30, 1954 - January 20, 2010
Lawrence Lee Gustafson, age 55, longtime resident of Chisholm and formerly of Elk River and Crosby, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 in the Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born September 30, 1954 in Hibbing the son of John and Arlene (Koivunen) Gustafson. He attended school in Hibbing and International Falls, and then Technical College in the Duluth area where he was trained as a machinist. A veteran of the US Army, Larry was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War.
Larry worked at L&M Radiator, and later as a machinist for several companies including Fluidyne Corp., retiring in 1996. He enjoyed playing cards and shooting pool.
Larry is survived by his mother: Arlene Gustafson of Hibbing; two sons: Blake (Caressa) Gustafson of Gilbert and John Gustafson of Chisholm, two sisters: Diane (Ricco) Riihiluoma of Hibbing and Debbie (Don) Roberts of Chisholm; and a brother: David (Tonette) Gustafson of Hibbing; three grandchildren: Teegan, Gianna, and Felicia Gustafson; and the mother of his children Blake and John: Dawn Abraham of Moundsview.
Larry was preceded in death by his father: John; an infant son; and his brother: John.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the 12 Noon memorial service Tuesday, January 26, 2010 in the Faith United Lutheran Church in Cherry. Pastor Janeva Stromberg will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
