Barbara Wiltse Obituary

Barbara Ann Wiltse, age 84 of Kinney died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 in Essentia Health Care Center – Virginia. She was born March 29, 1935 in Crookston, the daughter of Merle and Marie (Goosen) Magsam, and married Luther Willis Wiltse on February 9, 1950 in Crookston. Barbara made a home for husband and children in Grand Forks ND, Kenmare ND, Michigan ND, and Drayton ND prior to coming to the Iron Range and settling in Kinney. She was employed as a waitress and a bartender at Mac’s Bar for many years, and later as a cashier at the Buhl Shortstop. Barb was an avid gardener, loved making pickles and canning vegetables from her garden, taking care of her flower beds, and her yard. She could be seen riding her lawnmower, using her weed eater and pushing the lawn mower to manicure the lawn. Barb was also seen in Kinney hauling wood in her wagon, to feed her wood stove. Family was most important to Barb; she was the heart of her family that meant so much to her. She especially loved having the grandkids and great-grandkids around; and had enough patience for all. Barb had a heart of gold would help anyone, whenever help was needed. She cared for others like they were her own; there was always room for one more... the more, the merrier! Barb enjoyed playing smear, and was always ready for a game or two. She had a word of encouragement for everyone, and was always there with the glorified rice, potato salad, or bars.

Barb is survived by children: Lona Wiltse of Kinney, Shirley Agnoli of Kinney, Bonnie (Barry) Rosier of Mountain Iron, Darrell Wiltse of Mountain Iron, William (Pam) Wiltse of Kinney, Dale (Sherry) Wiltse of Kinney and Kelly (Stan) Oleson of  Virginia;  siblings: David Magsam, Dennis (Toby) Magsam and Duane (Joyce) Magsam all of Crookston, and Stuart (Debbie) Magsam of Iroquois SD; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Luther; son-in-law: “Snooky” Agnoli; and five siblings.
