John Conrad “Jack” Baker, age 71 of Gilbert died Monday, April 15, 2019 in Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. He was born June 21, 1947 in Kansas City, MO the son of Robert and Honey Olson and grew up in Fergus Falls, MN. John spent his life helping others, through grant writing and planning with the AEOA, serving as a medic in the US Army during the Vietnam War and shared his vast knowledge of auto and auto parts while he owned and operated Grahek Auto Parts in Chisholm for several years. John greatly enjoyed working on his street rod and was a member of the MSRA. He cherished his time spent with family and friends.
John is survived by longtime life partner: Kathy Kaufmann; sons: Brad Baker of Carlton, Kenneth “KC” (Joyce) Baker of Mankato, and John (Merrin) Baker of New Hope; grandchildren: Kyle, Alicia, Vincent and Marcella; extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter: Lilian.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2019 in the Bauman-Cron Funeral Home in Virginia.
