Judith "Judi" Rose (Zaudtke) Sellman

Judith (Judi) Rose Sellman was born on June 1, 1947, in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of Rev. Lloyd and Vera Zaudtke and passed away on July 4, 2019, in Dodge City Kansas when returning to Hibbing for the summer from Sun City, Arizona.

Judi graduated from Kennedy, MN, High School and the Anchor School of Nursing in Saint Paul. She was a psychiatric registered nurse at the Fairview Range Medical Center for 20+ years retiring in 2012. Judi was a voracious reader and loved spending the winter in Arizona. She was a three term member of the Chisholm School Board in the 1980’s. Judi was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing, American Lutheran Church in Sun City, and was a Stephen Minister.

Judi married Richard (Dick) Sellman on July 20th, 1968 and they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary fishing on Lake of the Woods. Fishing was one of Judi’s favorite pastimes.

Judi is survived by her husband: Richard; son: Richard Jr. (Chanann) Sellman; daughter: Carol Anne (Greg) Shackleford; grandchildren: Cody, Ciara, Cheyenne, Chanowa, Callie, Katelyn, Dakota, Tanner and Brandon; grandchildren; sister: Carolyn Bergquist, brother: David Zaudtke, step-mother: Mina Zaudtke; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Rev. Lloyd Zaudtke, her mother Vera Zaudtke and a sister Janice Rogers.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing, Pastor Kevin Olson officiating. A gathering time for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.
