Helen Joyce Larson

            Helen Joyce Larson, age 97, of Chisholm and formerly of Hibbing died Friday, March 15, 2024, at Aspen Grove Assisted Living in Chisholm.  She was born September 9, 1926, in Hibbing the daughter of Clarence and Esther (Sjoholm) Hoffman.  She was a graduate of Hibbing High School.  Helen was united in marriage to Loren Larson on September 14, 1957, at the First Lutheran Church in Hibbing. 

            Helen worked in the state of Washington in a B-17 factory and later as a secretary and bookkeeper for Schirmer Brothers and then for Clark Plumbing and Heating in Hibbing.  She was a member of First Lutheran Church and was an active choir member as well as working on bazaar and hobby club activities.  She was a member of the Masonic Lodge Auxiliary in Hibbing.  Helen enjoyed spending time with Loren at their cabin on White Swan Lake.

            Helen is survived by her sisters: Lois Pulis and Clarice Gildred as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Loren (2013); sisters: Elaine Thomas and Marjorie Hoffman; and nephew: David Pulis.

            Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service Monday, March 25, 2024, at First Lutheran Church in Hibbing.  The Reverend John Dietz will officiate.  Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.  Memorials are preferred to the First Lutheran Church.
