Bernice Gray

Biography

Bernice C. Gray, age 90, longtime resident of Hibbing died Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Coventry of Mahtomedi. She was born March 8, 1928 in Fingal, ND the daughter of William and Julia (Granrud) Fossen. She was a graduate of Wadena High School. Bernice was united in marriage to Bill Gray on June 7, 1952 in St. Paul, MN.

Bernice worked as a Bank Teller at US Bank in Hibbing, and as a Stenographer for the MN State Highway Department. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Bernice enjoyed playing cards and golfing.

Bernice is survived by her children: Cynthia (Jim Sodergren) Gray of Sandstone, MN, Robert (Rhea Wise) Gray of Maple Grove, MN, and Nancy (Mark) Hukka of Hibbing, MN; siblings: Irene Roe of Kindred, ND, Ruth Chose of Moorhead, MN, JoAnn Pedersen of Saulk Center, MN, and William Fossen of McKinney, TX; grandchildren: Samantha Gray, Joseph Gray, Alex Gray, Katherine Gray, Christine Gray, Mara (Forrest) Brownlee, and Anna (Alex) Lutton; great-grandsons: Finn and Will; and numerous extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Bill (1992), son: Ron (1989), and sister: Gerrie Raaen.

Visitation will be from 11 am until the 12 Noon Funeral Service Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing. The Reverend Kevin Olson will officiate. Interment will be in the Hibbing Park “Maple Hill” Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church new heating system fund.
