Frances E (Farr) Laine

            Frances E. Laine, age 79, of Duluth and formerly of Hibbing, died Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s in Duluth.  She was born February 20, 1940, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Charles and Miriam (Pollard) Farr.  She was a graduate of Duluth East High School and Duluth Business University. Fran was united in marriage to Ronald W. Laine on June 11, 1960, at the Endian Methodist Church in Duluth.

            Fran worked as the Organist and Secretary at the St. James Episcopal Church in Hibbing.  She was also a Tupperware dealer in Hibbing.  She was a member of the Hibbing Alliance Church, and she enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. 

            Fran is survived by her children: William (Deanne) Laine of Little Falls, MN, Timothy (Julie) Laine of Bovey, MN, John (Lynnette) Laine of West Palm Beach, FL, and Rosemarie (Todd) Paulson of Esko, MN; Grandchildren: Brandon Shellito, Christopher Laine, Cierra (Brandon) Scharnott, Jacquelyn (Eric) Ketner, Clarissa (Jake) Solberg, Tia (Charlton) Stanley, Miranda Stanfill, Shelby (Jonathan) Stang, Mitchell Paulson, Jordan Laine, and Michael Stanfill; Eight Great-Grandchildren;  Niece: Shelley (Troy) Flynn; and numerous extended family members and friends.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister: Susan Lewis.

            Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service Thursday, June 20, 2019, at the Hibbing Alliance Church.  The Reverend Kevin L. Norton will officiate.  Interment will be in the Hibbing Park “Maple Hill” Cemetery.  Memorials are preferred to the Hibbing Alliance Church or to Big Sandy Camp.
