Margaret Larsen

Margaret Jean Larsen, age 93, of Meadowlands and formerly of Grand Rapids, Kiester, Minneapolis, and Cook, MN, Deming NM, and Kansas City MO, died Sunday, November 18, 2018, just two days shy of her 94th birthday, at The Hummingbird in Meadowlands.

She was born November 20, 1924, in Moorhead, MN the daughter of Malachai and Ida (Caparoon) Crowe. She was united in marriage to Donald G. Larsen on February 23, 1944, in Grand Rapids, MN. She worked much of her career in school services, and was town clerk in Meadowlands for many years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Meadowlands. Margaret was a past president of the local Western Fraternal Life Association (WFLA), a member of the Meadowlands Fair Association, local PTA, the Meadowlands Golden Group, and was an avid bingo and card player.

Margaret is survived by her son: Robert (Wanda) Larsen of Meadowlands; grandson: Erik (Gretchen) Larsen; great-grandsons: Chris and Jacob Larsen; numerous nephews and nieces; and her honorary grandchildren Zach and Leah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings: Daisy, Julia, Alice, James, Joseph, John, Cecelia, Leo, and Martha; and granddaughter Kristin Larsen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Meadowlands Community Center. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Meadowlands Cemetery. Memorials in the form of donations to the Meadowlands Ambulance are preferred, as a thank you for all their care and compassion they have shown her over the years.
