Alicia Claire Toscano, age 69 of Hibbing went home the be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 15, 2015, surrounded by her family in Essentia-St. Mary's Hospice Center. She was born July 23, 1945 in Hibbing the daughter of Zenobio A. and Alicia (Grenier) Valeri. Alicia married Thomas Toscano on December 29, 1961 in Hibbing and was a lifelong Hibbing resident. Alicia graduated from Hibbing High School and went on to have a successful career in the Chemical Dependency field for 37 years. She worked as a LADC Counselor and Program Director. Alicia was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Hibbing, enjoyed gardening, telling stories to her grandchildren, writing, and cherished time spent with family.
Alicia is survived by her husband Tom, married for 53 years; children: Greg (Connie) Toscano of Duluth, Kari (Steve Rannikar) Doucette of Hibbing, Melissa (Greg) Sundvall of Hibbing and Christina (Shawn) Zierman of Duluth; grandchildren: Nicholas, Alex and Rachel Toscano, Ashley and Matthew Doucette, Alyssa (Garcia), Meghan and Jacobi Sundvall, Kenneth and Autumn Zierman; great-grandson: Mateo Garcia; siblings: MaryBeth (Clifford) Perreira, Denise (Harry) Atlas, Jim (Val) Valeri and Vickie (Ray) Sogard; aunt: Mitzi (Eleanor) Nasi; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son Anthony Toscano, and brothers: Robert and William Valeri.
A gathering time for family and friends will held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home in Hibbing. The gathering time will continue Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Service in the Abundant Life Church in Hibbing. Pastors Allan Reini and Aaron Reini will co-officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Hibbing Park – Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
