Angelo Frank "Za" Poaletti, age 66, of Lake Vermilion and formerly of Mt. Iron, died Saturday, August 23, 2014 in his home. He was born February 24, 1948, in Eveleth the son of Angelo and Katherine (Palkovich) Poaletti. He graduated from Eveleth High School and went on to attend Mesabi Community College. He was united in marriage to Donna Mae Becker on March 7, 1966, in Mt. Iron. Angelo was an owner and broker for the Vermilion Land Office in Tower. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and watching his grandchildren in their various sporting events. He also loved the outdoors and felt blessed to be living on the lake.
Angelo is survived by his wife: Donna; his children: Angelo (Paula) Poaletti of Annandale, MN, Michael (Janean) Poaletti of El Paso, TX, Gina Marie (Jack) Koski of Eveleth, and Paula (Tom) Schlotec of Eveleth; his sisters: Kathleen Otis of Eveleth and Rozann (Steven "Stebo" Gais) Poaletti of Eveleth; and 12 grandchildren: Tony, Angelina, Emily, Tyler, Michael, Chloe, Savanna, Casey, Lauren, Alexandra, Morgan and Tommy, extended family and friends including special family friends: John Goerdt and Brian Lahti.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother: Roland; and his sister: Marlene.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm funeral service Friday, August 29, 2014, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Midway. The Reverend Robert Stroup will officiate. Interment will be in the Eveleth Cemetery.
