Anna Katherine Melicher, age 27, of Eveleth, Minnesota, passed away on June 30, 2026, as the result of a tragic automobile accident.
Anna was known for her practical nature, her kind heart, and her deep love of the outdoors. She lived life with quiet confidence, genuine compassion, and an adventurous spirit that drew people to her. Whether she was with family, friends, or the students she served, Anna's warmth, thoughtfulness, and gentle sense of humor made everyone feel welcome.
Anna graduated from Eveleth-Gilbert High School before continuing her education at St. Cloud State University, where she earned both her bachelor's degree and her master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She was proud to serve as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the Eden Prairie School District, where she devoted herself to helping children find their voices and develop the confidence to communicate. Her patience, kindness, and unwavering dedication made a lasting difference in the lives of her students, their families, and her colleagues.
Anna found her greatest joy outdoors. She loved hiking, skiing, and camping and was happiest when surrounded by the beauty of nature. Of all the places she loved, none meant more to her than the mountains of Wyoming, where her family gathered every other year. Those trips were filled with adventure, laughter, and time together—memories she treasured and traditions she looked forward to with great anticipation.
Anna is survived by her loving parents, Jeff Melicher and Brenda Melicher, of Eveleth, Minnesota; her brother, Reed P. Melicher, of Carnelian Bay, California; her grandmother, Barbara Melicher, of Grand Forks, North Dakota; her grandfather, Mark Hoffmann, of Grand Forks, North Dakota; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, cherished friends, colleagues, students, and families whose lives were enriched by knowing her.
Anna was preceded in death by her grandfather, Reed A. Melicher; her grandmother, Janis Bray Hoffmann; and her beloved cat, Shayla, who she missed dearly.
Though her time with us was far too short, the love Anna shared and the difference she made will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service celebrating Anna's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the Eveleth Veterans Memorial Park Pavilion in Eveleth, Minnesota. The service will be immediately followed by a Celebration of Life, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Anna together until approximately 4:00 p.m.
Anna loved bringing people together, and her family warmly welcomes all who knew and loved her to join them in celebrating her life.
Guests are invited to dress comfortably, in a way that reflects Anna's love of the outdoors.
