Anne E. Roy, age 95 of Virginia and formerly Soudan, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 in the Edgewood Vista Memory Care Facility in Virginia. She was born July 15, 1913 in Soudan, the daughter of Alfred and Anna Johnson. Anne was united in marriage to Albert Roy on February 23, 1935. She worked as a postal clerk in Soudan for over 30 years. Anne enjoyed baking and taking walks.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Lois Hinkel of Soudan; her son, Jay Roy of Embarrass; grandchildren, Kenneth (Amy) Hinkel, Ray Hinkel, Debbie (Gary) Moon, Jane (John) Egan, Renee (Bryan) Meyers, Darlene (John) Hadrava, Dawn (Tim) Stellmach, Paul (Lynn) Roy, Pam (Jim) Hill, and Mark (Sue) Roy; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert in 1968; four brothers, Elmer, Bill, Jalmer, and Melvin; two sisters, Ebba and Tecla; a grandson, Russell Hinkel in 1980; and a great-grandson, Jacob Stellmach in 2009.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service on Monday, June 29, 2009 in the Bauman-Vermilion Funeral Home Chapel in Tower. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Tower.
