Anthony Mario DeLuca, age 66, longtime resident of Virginia died Thursday, April 17, 2014, in his home following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 14, 1947, in Chicago, IL the son of Martin and Christine (Paoletti) DeLuca. He graduated from Virginia High School, and went on to attend the University of Cincinnati for their Fire Service program. He was united in marriage to Donna Anderson on January 13, 1990, in Virginia.
Anthony worked as a Firefighter. He also was a driver and instructor for Greyhound, and worked as an over-the-road truck driver. He enjoyed painting, fishing with his brother, and playing bass guitar.
Anthony is survived by his wife: Donna; his father: Martin of Virginia; four children: Anthony (Elizabeth) DeLuca, Jr. of Superior, WI, Tracey DeLuca (Joe Bray) of Grand Rapids, MN, Terry (Diedre) Salminen and Shawn (Terri) Salminen, both of Hibbing, MN; his brother: David DeLuca of Virginia; his sisters: Linda (Keith) Lundin of Virginia, and Joanne (Richard) Setzer of Annapolis, MD; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His mother preceded him in death.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at 2:00 pm in the Bauman-Cron Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
