Audrey Louise Kuehl, age 71, a longtime resident of Embarrass died Monday, February 18, 2019 in her home, surrounded by her family after a two year battle with cancer. She was born August 13, 1947 in Fergus Falls, MN the daughter of Edwin and Mary (Frazier) Thom and was a 1965 graduate of Pelican Rapids High School. Audrey grew up in Erhard, MN and married Ed Kuehl on July 29, 1967 in Pelican Rapids. They lived in Fergus Falls and Aurora prior to moving to Embarrass. She was employed as a legal secretary with Colosimo, Patchin, Kearney & Brunfelt, Ltd. for 38 years. She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Embarrass, having served as the chair of the church council and the woman's aid; she was a member of the Embarrass Flower and Garden Club and had served as their secretary. Audrey loved sewing, quilting, embroidery, baking, and working in her flower beds.
Audrey is survived by her husband of 51 years: Ed Kuehl; children: Christopher (Angela) Kuehl of Flagstaff AZ, Ingrid Kuehl of Brainerd, Emilie (Kevin) Eisen of Minneapolis, and Cheryl (Todd) Engseth of Cambridge; siblings: Mary Meder of Fergus Falls, Elsie Emery of Erhard MN, Beverly Keil of Dent MN, and Barbara Kjono of Fergus Falls; grandchildren: Linnae, Liam, Justin, Hasan, Ali, Nadiya, Braeden, Aili, Clayton, Chad, Derek, Megan, and Dillon; great-grandchildren: Emme, Layna, Kooper, Axel, and Madeleine; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: James Griffin and Lorraine Meder; and sons: Vernon and Robert Schuety.
The funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Virginia. Pastor Evelyn Weston will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the church. Spring interment will take place in the East Pike Cemetery.
Memorials are the preferred way to honor Audrey's memory.
