Obituary

Barbara Lou Gunderson (Edblom) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday January 5, 2024, surrounded by her family. Barbara was born to Rudolph and Anne (Mravinc) Edblom on October 6, 1939, at Cook Community Hospital. Barbara married Jerome Gunderson on November 1, 1997.


Barb and Jerry enjoyed wintering in Arizona and would return to their home in Buhl, MN during the summer months. Barbara loved to sing with her sisters and her husband Jerry as he played music. She enjoyed playing the mandolin and the piano. She enjoyed playing card games with friends and family. Her loves in life were her husband Jerry, their dog Chipper, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. Barbara worked many jobs throughout her life including raising five children, the shirt factory in Virginia, Housekeeper at Virginia Convalescent Center and Housekeeper at Virginia Regional Medical Center where she retired from.


Barbara is survived by her husband Jerome Gunderson. Her children Michael (Rebecca) Dall of Iron, Allen Dall of Gilbert, Raymond (Karen) Dall of Biwabik, Sharyl Guyer of Shell Lake, WI, Debra (Robert) Cummings of Farmington, Daniel (Linda) Gunderson of Rochester, Brian Gunderson of Cass Lake, Tanya Gunderson of Florida, and Spencer Gunderson of Aurora. Siblings Warren (Harriet) Edblom, Lorretta Turman, Irene (Jerry) Simonson, Donna Billington, Joy Hanson, Robert (Lois) Edblom, sister-in-law Jo Edblom and brother-in-law Jerry Sternberg. Along with many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.


She was proceeded in death by her parents Rudolph and Anne Edblom, infant brother John Edblom, sister Vivian Hanson, sister Kathryn Hawkinson, sister Kathleen Sternberg, brother Richard Edblom, sister-in-law Joyce Edblom, brother-in-law Jim Turman, brother-in-law Roger Billington, brother-in-law Robert Hawkinson, brother-in-law Paul Hanson and son-in-law Dennis Guyer.


Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday January 12, 2024, at Woodland Bible Church in Eveleth, MN, with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia following the services for those that would like to attend. Lunch will be held at the Woodland Church.
