Obituary


Barbara Jane Muck, age 88 of Virginia and formerly of Mountain Iron died Sunday, May 10, 2015 in Essentia Miller-Dwan. She was born May 19, 1926 in Virginia the eldest daughter of John and Mathilda (Zutz) Busse, graduated from Virginia High School and attended Virginia Junior College. Barbara married Charles Walker Muck on July 17, 1952 and they were longtime residents of Mountain Iron. She was employed as a bank teller, a clerk at Red Owl, worked at the Cluett-Peabody Arrow Shirt Factory, a clerk at Pamida, worked at Ann's Snack Shop in Mt. Iron, and was an excellent caterer. She was an active member of the Yoki-Bergman American Legion Post # 220 Women's Auxiliary , had been in a bowling league and a volleyball league. Barbara enjoyed time spent at Lake Leander, camping and fishing weekends, knitting, blueberry picking, enjoyed crossword puzzles, was a fantastic baker and cook and loved to entertain friends and family get-togethers.
Barbara is survived by her children: John (Bonnie King) Muck of Mountain Iron and Janelle (Ray) Buria of Britt; grandchildren: Shannon (Jeremy) Nelson, Brandon (Tracy) Muck, Austin, Amber, Amanda, Emily (Alon) Naftali, and Kevin; great-grandchildren: Drew, Dylan, Beau, Vera, and Ben; siblings: John Busse of Kenosha, WI, Kathleen (Gary) Thompson of Duluth, and Ruth Ann (Bob) Kempf of Minneapolis; sisters-in-law: Marilyn Busse and Judy Busse; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Charles; siblings: Marvel Busse, Alan Busse, Lowell Busse, David Busse; great-grandson: George Muck; sister-in-law: Beverly Busse; and nephews: Kerry and Bruce.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the Bauman-Cron Funeral Home Chapel. A Gathering time for family will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorials are the preferred way to honor Barbara's memory and may be directed to the Yoki-Bergman American Legion Post # 220 Women's Auxiliary.
