Barbara Jean "Bobbi" Westerbur, age 73 of Mountain Iron died Thursday, December 7, 2017 in her home, surrounded by her family and in the compassionate care of the Essentia East Range Hospice Team. She was born November 30, 1944 in Minneapolis, the daughter of Herbert and Jean (Hubbard) Pfremmer. Bobbi was a graduate of Virginia Roosevelt High School and received her degree as an x-ray technician. She married Ronald Ray Westerbur on September 21, 1968. Bobbi became an Iron Ranger as a child, and worked at Lookout Mountain and ran their Ski Hostess Program. She was employed as an x-ray technician, taught in the Virginia High School in their tutoring program, and was the cheerleading advisor/coach for 12 years. Bobbi was a Past Honored Queen in the International Order of Job's Daughters, a member of the Eveleth Group of the Red Hat Society, and made the role of Mrs. Claus come to life at Silver Lake Floral for 20 years. Bobbi cherished time spent with family, especially her grandchildren, and supporting and attending all of their events. Her caring and nurturing nature was extended to many friends and acquaintances. Bobbi was a true VHS Blue Devil supporter and fan. A self-proclaimed ecumenical Christian, Bobbi was committed to finding the good, in life.

Bobbi is survived by her husband of 49 years: Ron, sons: Marc (Kristi) Westerbur of Mt. Iron, Jay (Amber) Westerbur of Duluth, and Kristopfer Westerbur of Crystal; siblings: Carol (Kurt) Sundquist of Virginia, Nancy Swanson of Colorado, and Jerry (Paulette) Pfremmer of Biwabik; grandchildren: Jill, Jace, Jayda, Aaden, and Annalise; nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law: John Swanson.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, 2017 in the North Room of the Miner's Memorial Building. Pastor Mickey Olson will officiate. Please plan to stay after the service for a time of visiting and coffee 'an.

In lieu of flowers, balloons are requested so that they may be part of a balloon release following the service.

Memorials may be directed to the Virginia Community Foundation's Blue Pride Fund, or the Virginia Educational Fund, or the Fund for the Arts.
