Brenda Lynn (Hagen) Kjenaas age 74, of Mt. Iron died Sunday July 19, 2026, at Essentia Health St. Joseph’s in Brainerd, MN. She was born February 21, 1952, to Carl and Hazel (Larson) Hagen in Ada, MN.

Brenda spent her formative years in Norman County before her family’s path brought deep roots to the Iron Range community of Gilbert, Mn. She was known for her gentle demeanor and profound strength, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her. Her unwavering dedication to her loved ones was a testament to her character. Brenda found joy in a variety of crafts, baking, hiking, fashion and spending time with dogs. Her joyful laughter and warm smile will be missed deeply by all who were fortunate enough to share in her life.

Brenda is survived by her son: Daniel Hackey; Grandsons: Hunter and Calvin Koski; Sister: June Wakefield; Nieces: Heather (Scott) Lammers and Carrie Salmia and many extended family, great nieces and nephews and friends across the Arrowhead region.

Brenda was preceded in death by: Parents; Husband: Robert; Son: Jesse; Brother: Carl; Sister-In-Law: Lois; Nephews: Joey and Keith.

A celebration of life for Brenda will be held on Monday August 10, 2026 at the Bauman-Cron Funeral Home from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
