Brian Joseph Nelson, age 60, of Hibbing and formerly of Mission Viejo, CA, died Monday, July 10, 2017. He was born October 30, 1956, in Hibbing the son of Leo and Helga (Peterson) Nelson. He graduated from Hibbing High School and went on to attend the Minnesota School of Business.

Brian worked for LM&P Parts Store in California, and was the Owner/Operator of The Bottle Shop in Hibbing. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Brian enjoyed fishing, watching auto racing, and playing baseball.

Brian is survived by his parents: Leo and Helga Nelson of Hibbing; his sisters: Carol I. Nelson of Hibbing and Karen M. Kreibich of Lino Lakes, MN; nieces: Jennifer (Victor) Poppler and Heidi (Jake) Vanderbeek; great-nephews: Jacob and Jeffrey Vanderbeek; great-niece: Claire Poppler; numerous extended family members; and his faithful companion: Dodo.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his brother: Bob; and his brother-in law: Randy Kreibich.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm Monday, July 17, 2017, at the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home in Hibbing. Visitation will continue Tuesday, July 18, 2017, from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am Funeral Service at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hibbing. The Reverend Kevin Olson will officiate. Interment will be in the Hibbing Park "Maple Hill" Cemetery.
