Bruce Norman Olson, age 69 a longtime resident of the Lakeview Residence in Virginia and the Merritt House in Biwabik died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 in St. Michael's Health and Rehabilitation Center in Virginia. He was born September 8, 1944 in Hibbing, the son of Arnold M. and Helen (Williams) Olson and attended Hibbing High School. Bruce had a passion for music. He enjoyed hard rock, flamenco guitar, and folk music, especially Bob Dylan. He enjoyed playing his guitar, and when he was comfortable around you, he would pull out his harmonica and play you a tune. He made a lasting impression on those that spent time with him.
He is survived by siblings: Gordon (Jeanette) Olson of San Marcos, Ca, Janet (Dick) Green of Bloomington, MN, Barbara (Arvid) Monson of Grand Rapids, MN, and Mervin (Joan) Olson of Deer River, MN; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2013 in the Hibbing Park – Maple Hill Cemetery.
