Bruce Edwin Valine, age 86, longtime resident of Hibbing Died Friday, August 10, 2018, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Duluth. He was born in Iron River, Michigan on December 21, 1931, the son of Edwin and Ryene Valine. He was raised in Iron River and graduated from Iron River High School in 1950. He graduated as a mining engineer from Michigan College of Mining and Technology (Michigan Tech) in June 1955 and started his career in San Manuel, Arizona working for Magma Copper in an underground mine. He spent the duration of his career in Michigan and northern Minnesota working for Hanna Mining and National Steel.

He married the love of his life, Edith (Pat) Adamson, in December 1954, and they celebrated their 63rd anniversary this past December. Bruce and Pat built a cabin together on South Sturgeon Lake and spent many years enjoying it with their 4 sons and their families. It was a wonderful way to spend their summers. Bruce is preceded in death by his mother and father, infant sister Susan, half-brother David Adamson, and grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Pat; his 4 sons, Steve (Tammy), Gary (Valerie), David (Brenda), and Tom (Katy); 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother Ralph (Gail) of Florence, Wisconsin; and sister-in-law Barbara Adamson of Iron River, Michigan.

Visitation will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hibbing at 10 a.m. on Friday August 17th, with services to follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Kevin Olson will officiate. Memorial donations may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hibbing.
