Bryce Robert Kennedy – son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin,and friend passed away on June 7, 2018. Bryce was 17 years old and a recent graduate of Virginia High School.

Bryce is survived by his parents, Jennifer (Dan) Rabideaux of Virginia and Kip (Rochelle) Kennedy of Virginia; sister, Liz Kennedy of New York; brother, Aidan Rabideaux of Virginia; grandparents, Stewart and Sharon Kennedy of International Falls, Gerald Fiori of Hibbing, and Jim and Connie Rabideaux of Mt. Iron; aunts and uncles, James Hamalainen, Kurt Kennedy (Desiree Arnold), Kari (Ryan) Kraft, and Dustin (Tanya) Rabideaux; cousins, Daniel Hamalainen, Maddie and Mia Kraft and Izzy and Kierja Rabideaux; and many friends and teammates.

Bryce is preceded in death by grandparents, Leslie and Patricia Hamalainen and JoAnn Fiori; and uncle, Robert Hamalainen.

Bryce was an avid lover of sports and during his young life he excelled in football, basketball and track and field. He qualified for state in discus throwing and earned a full-ride football scholarship to the University of South Dakota. In a sophomore letter to himself, Bryce hoped his hard work would pay off and he would, "be an absolute monster with a full beard", "have some fun adventures", "finally get a dunk or a touchdown", help "continue the blue devil tradition of a good basketball program", get "a full-ride in football", and "make it to state". Bryce did it all, with the loving support of his family, and beside many wonderful teammates.

Bryce will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He was the kind of young man who anyone would be proud to call a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.

A Gathering time for family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia. The Memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Father Brandon Moravitz will be the Celebrant. Inurnment will follow n the Calvary Cemetery.
