Carol Emily Michalek, age 75 of Lake Vermilion Tower died Sunday, January 4, 2015 in the Boundary Waters Care Center in Ely. She was born January 8, 1939 in Chicago the daughter of James and Carolyn (Parod) Prasil. Carol married Russell Michalek on December 16, 1961 and they made their home in the Chicago area, Denver, and Sleepy Hollow, IL prior to moving to Lake Vermilion in 1992. She was employed as a personnel director, a real estate agent, a real estate broker, and an antique dealer. She really enjoyed selling the sweatshirts for the Greenwood Township Fire Department BBQ for many years; she was a natural born saleswoman and people loved her.
Carol is survived by her husband: Russ; sons: Carl of Huntsville, TX and Ken of Eveleth.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son: Joseph.
At Carol's request, no formal services will be held.
