Obituary

Casey Micheal Hartshorn, age 29 of Hibbing died Thursday, November 26, 2009 in the Fairview University Medical Center Mesabi. He was born September 18, 1980 in Minneapolis, the son of Charles Edward and Robin Elaine (Tawyea) Hartshorn, Jr. Casey was a longtime resident of Hibbing, had worked at the Salvation Army, and attended the Assemblies of God Church.. He enjoyed disc golf, fishing, hunting, drawing, and music.
Casey is survived by: children: Nicholas Micheal Gilbert, Shayemarie Rose Gilbert, and Dakota Sandberg all of Hibbing; fiancée: Rachel Lynn Gilbert of Hibbing; brothers: Jeremiah Jason Hartshorn and Shon Richard Hartshorn both of Mankato; special cousins, including: Rebecca Shain, Samantha Tawyea, and Brian Shain, Jr. all of Hibbing; and an uncle: Rick Tawyea of Hibbing
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: John Edgar at birth; grandparents: Beverly Lo and Norm Olson; great-grandma: Evelyn Boutain; and numerous aunts and uncles, including: Rusty Olson, Randy Tawyea, and George Boutain.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2009 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Pastor Dan Smith will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church. Interment will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
