Obituary

Chanann Roea Sellman, beloved daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023 at Mayo Clinic with her family at her bedside.  Chanann was born on October 9th, 1969, in Springfield, MO.

As her father was a pastor, she traveled throughout her childhood and had a natural ability to spread the love of Christ through her kind, joyous, and selfless attitude towards others.  Her love carried her way through life – ultimately giving birth to her pride and joy – her children.  She spent 29 years with her husband and love of her life, Richard Sellman who provided unending support throughout her illnesses and until the very end of her life.  She and Richard were blessed to be given the roles as grandparents.  One of her absolute favorite things to do was to visit with her children and spend as much time as possible with her grandchildren.

The love of the Lord filled Chanann's heart – and through Him, she shared the unconditional love to others.  Her smile, hugs, and laugh could mend any broken heart.  She spent much of her adult life providing foster care to many children and supporting families from all walks of life.  Her doors were always open, and she never judged who walked through them.

Chanann touched the hearts of many, but was never prideful or boastful about how loved she was.  Those who knew and loved Chanann are left with a hole in their hearts as the love she carried is no longer Earthside.  However, Chanann would want her loved ones to find peace in knowing that she is pain-free and in the company of the Lord, her beloved daughter Ciara, and her mother who passed before her.  "For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive."  1 Corinthians 15:22

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel.  The Reverend Kevin Olson will officiate.  Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
