Clara May Downs (nee Voshell) age 87, died peacefully surrounded by family May 11, 2019, at the Fairview Regional Medical Center in Hibbing.

A longtime resident of Hibbing, she is survived by her sons: Donald (Barbara) Downs, Jr. of Hibbing, Frank (Cheryl) Downs of Casper, WY, Bret (Kathy) Downs of Buckley, WA; daughter: Connie (Chuck) Dallas of Palm City, FL; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

Clara was a member of the Hibbing Alliance Church.  She enjoyed horseback riding and she was active in the Minnesota Horse Council assisting her husband in the planning and construction of the Cut Foot Sioux, Stony Brook, and Togo Horse Camps.  She enjoyed sewing – especially quilting, and flower gardening with a gift for growing tuberous begonias.  In later years she excelled in the game of cribbage.

She was preceded in death by her Parents; husband of 63 years: Donald; brother: Keith Voshell; and grandchildren: Keziah Sweet and Jeremy Throness.

Visitation will be from 10 am until the 11 am Memorial Service Tuesday, May 14, 2019, at the Hibbing Alliance Church.  The Reverend Kevin L. Norton will officiate.  Inurnment will be in the Hibbing Park "Maple Hill" Cemetery.
