Obituary


Clarice Ann Shepersky, 77, lifelong resident of Virginia, went home to Jesus October 12, 2017, after a battle with cancer. She was born February 8, 1940 in Virginia, the daughter of John and Marena (Lanari) Michals. The oldest of four children, Clarice graduated from Virginia High School Class of 1958 and attended Mesabi Range Community & Technical College. She worked in the medical field as a nursing assistant and in the hospitality field at a hotel, and various other jobs. On August 4, 1979, she was united in marriage to David Shepersky at Holy Spirit Church in Virginia. Family was important to Clarice. She was a homemaker and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an avid reader, loved animals, cooking, baking, crafts, and was a kind and caring friend. She will be missed by many.


Clarice is survived by her husband: David; children: Jeff (Raven) Kruse of Mankato, Terry (Sue) Kruse of Evelth, Mike (Judy) Kruse of Rodgers, MN, Keith (Joan) Kruse of Virginia, Daniel Kruse of Virginia, Cynthia (Matthew) Mueller of DePere, WI, Corinne Slininger of Barnesville, MN; step-children: Daniel (Kevin) Davis of New York, Russell Shepersky; grandchildren: Sarah Kruse, Kathryn (Dean) Haupt, Lisa Kruse and Bengkt Welander, Meghan Kruse, Mikala Kruse, Benjamin Kruse, Kristin Kruse, Ashley Slininger, Zachary Slininger; step-grandchildren: Travis Swanson, Kenzie Swanson, Devan Swanson, Wyatt Swanson, great-grandchildren: Taylor Thon, Brady Kruse, Johanna Kruse-Giefer; brother: Michael (Kathleen) Michals; sisters-in-law: Barb Michals and Martina Michals; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and many special friends. Clarice is also survived by her beloved pet pug and faithful companion to the end, Tiffany.


She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Thomas Michals and Bernard Michals, and great-niece: Chelsea Michals.


The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Essentia Hospice East Range Team and St Michael's Health and Rehabilitation Center and all those who called and visited Clarice both at home and at St. Michael's. Your kindness is very much appreciated.
