Obituary

Clyde Gerald Satrang, age 79 of Mountain Iron, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in the Cornerstone Villa Care Center in Buhl. He was born October 13, 1932 in Dunseith, ND, the son of Clarence & Inga (Rue) Satrang. Clyde graduated from Willow City High School. He married Marjorie Hummel on November 25, 1956 in Garrison, ND and was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army. He worked as an Iron Worker across the Midwest and had lived in California, Louisiana, North Dakota and South Dakota prior to moving to Minnesota. Clyde was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and had served on its council, the American Legion in Mt. Iron, Sons of Norway Haarfager Lodge of Virginia and a former Moose member. He enjoyed reading, fishing, bowling, gardening, cutting firewood with a bow saw and listening to the Twins. He did many special projects for his kids and cherished time spent with family. Clyde and Marge traveled to Norway to see his family homestead.
Clyde is survived by his wife: Marge; daughter: Kristie Satrang of Cold Spring, MN; sons: Cary Satrang of Iron , Tom (Jeanne) Satrang of Andover, MN, and Tim (Paula) Satrang of Mt. Iron ; grandchildren: Joe Satrang, Alexander Satrang, Cullen Satrang & Justin Nelson; brother-in-law: Clarence Hummel of Clarkston, WA; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Alfred and John and Alvin in infancy; sisters: Berdella Clark and Lela Wenstad.
A Gathering Time for Family and Friends will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 from 12:00 Noon until the 1:00 p.m. Memorial Service in Messiah Lutheran Church in Mt. Iron. Pastor Kristin Foster will officiate. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND with Military Honors.
