Constance Ann Dorn was the middle child of Kenneth James Dorn, "Doc", and Barbara Fay (Richardson) Dorn, born on June 28, 1953 in Yakima, WA. She died peacefully after a brief illness, in her home in Virginia, MN, on June
14, 2018, at the age of 64. She grew up in Everett, WA and graduated from Cascade High School, and continued her education at Sheldon Jackson College in Sitka, AK, where she also served as pastor for 1 year. Connie attended Fuller Theological Seminary, where she earned her Master of Devinity, and completed her Master of Theology at the Jesuit School of Theology, Berkley, CA. At James Madison University Connie received her Master of History. She became an active-duty chaplain in the US Navy and served for 20 years with tours in Crete and Kuwait. During her military career Connie was awarded: Navy/Marine Corps achievement Medal (3 awards-PERSONAL); Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War On Terrorism Service Medal; NATO Medal; Humanitarian Service Medal; National Defense Service Medal (2); Navy Unit Commendation (2); Sea Service Deployment Ribbon; Navy Unit Commendation (2). Connie retired with the rank of: Lieutenant Commander. She served in several churches: Alaska, Utah, Virginia, and most recently at Hope Community Presbyterian Church In Virginia,MN.
Connie is survived by her sister Kaye Phinney, brother Ken Dorn, nieces Janelle Phinney, Brianne McIlrath, Kerianne Dorn, Sherityn Dorn, nephew Darold Phinney. Foster parent to Santana's Fire (Santo) a 12-year-old Arabian
stallion gelding who she so enjoyed. Special friends: Charlotte Hunter, Elaine Boehmer, Shannon Lloyd, Patricia Roland, Myrlene Hamilton, Nancy Slye, Judy Spaher and her friends at HCPC.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Connie's Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on June 29, 2018 at Hope Community Presbyterian Church in Virginia. Pastor Frank Davis will officiate. A gathering time for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service at the church.
