Daniel R. Forsmark, age 80, longtime resident of Hibbing, died Thursday, October 31, 2013, in the Heritage Manor nursing home in Chisholm. He was born May 17, 1933, in Stuntz Twp., the son of Jacob D. and Mathilda H. (Bye) Forsmark. He graduated from Hibbing High School. Daniel served in the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage to Florence Mary Marie Purchase in Corner Brook, Newfoundland.
Daniel worked as an Electrician for US Steel – Minntac. He was a member of the Hibbing Christian Assembly. Daniel enjoyed good food, the woods, lakes and family gatherings. Daniel had a very strong faith in The Risen Christ, and professed his faith in many ways by his dedicated service to his church.
Daniel is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Marie; three infant children; and siblings: Donald (Iva) Forsmark, Evelyn (Pat) Forsmark, Blanche (Cecil) Forsmark, Hazel Forsmark, and Norma Forsmark.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until the 6:00 pm memorial service Thursday, November 7, 2013, at The Hibbing Christian Assembly. Pastor Rod Tuomi will officiate. Inurnment and Military Honors will be at a later date in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. Memorials are preferred to the Hibbing Christian Assembly Building Fund.
