Daniel (Dan) Mark Hedlund was the oldest of two boys, born December 17, 1977, in Virginia to Mark and Ellen Hedlund and went to see our Lord on December 11, 2018. He passed away from natural causes at his home in Golden Valley. He attended Eveleth-Gilbert Schools, Toivola-Meadowlands Charter School, Mesabi Community College, majoring in art and science and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, majoring in computer science. He worked as an Application System Engineer at Wells Fargo Headquarters in Minneapolis, and then was later self-employed as a software engineer. He had fond memories of Boy Scouts, camping, Suzuki piano, downhill skiing, and developed a keen interest in computers even as a young child.

Daniel is survived by his parents: Mark and Ellen Hedlund; his brother Bryan (Andrea) and their two sons, Noah and Asher; one uncle, Bob Hedlund; two aunts, Doris Garbacz and Shirley Parrish; and numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Uncles: Larry, Allen, and Bill Connor. Dan will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends.

The memorial service will be held, January 5, 2018 at 2 pm at Peace United Methodist Church in Virginia. Pastor Mickey Olson will officiate. A gathering time for family and friends will be from 1 pm until 2 pm at the church. We invite you to be with us as we thank God for Dan, and share sorrows with all who have lost a child, even if they are grown-up.
