Obituary


Darryl Robert Folman, age 64 of Embarrass, died Saturday, March 19, 2016 unexpectedly in his home. He was born September 26, 1951 in Virginia, the son of William and Mildred (Wiitala) Folman. Darryl was a 1969 graduate of Virginia High School and enjoyed playing hockey in school. He was an honorably discharged Army veteran of the Vietnam War era. Darryl was employed by AEOA Weatherization retiring after 30 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley, being at the Lake Cabin, saunas, and his lilacs. He cherished time spent with family; especially his grand nieces and nephews. Darryl was very content with his simple lifestyle.


Darryl is survived by his father: Bill Folman of Virginia; siblings: Dale Folman of Gilbert, Julie (Roger) Keith of Zim, and Janet (Frank) Peterson of Virginia; Nieces and Nephews: Amy, Jennifer, Darren, Joslyn and Jesreal "Jes"; great nieces and nephews: Elora, Alisa, Cierra, Ella, Andrew, Alex, Hannah, Jordyn, Corbin, Carter, and Connor; many extended family and friends, including Gypo Friends past and present.


He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Mother: Mildred Folman; numerous aunts, uncles, and extended family.


The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 at Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church in Virginia. Pastor Nathan Sager will officiate. A Gathering Time for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will take place in the Embarrass Cemetery at a later date.
