David George Houghton, age 73, of Hibbing passed away Friday, March 22, 2013, at the Valley Baptist Medical Center, Harlingen, TX. He was born on August 26, 1939, in Hibbing the son of Harry and Helen Houghton. David was united in marriage to Joanne Denzel on July 1, 1961. He served in the US Air Force from 1962-1966.
Upon his return to Hibbing, David worked in various positions as a mechanic – a field of work he always enjoyed. He enjoyed the outdoors, and always had "projects" going on in the garage.
David is survived by his wife of 52 years: Joanne; his son: David (Paula) Houghton and their son Logan of Hibbing; his sister: Sandra Pulis of Mt. Iron; his sister-in-law: Patricia Houghton of Hibbing; nieces and nephews: Debra (Fred) Gams of Hibbing, Steven Houghton of Hibbing, Tracy (John) Norri of Burnsville, MN; and his step-aunt: Gladys Stilinovich of Hibbing.
He was preceded in death by his father: Harry Houghton; his mother and step-father: Helen and Frederick Ambrosh; his brother: Ronald Houghton; and his brother-in-law: David A. Pulis.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service of remembrance Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Hibbing.
