David Mark Voss, age 67, longtime resident of Hibbing died Monday, November 26, 2012, in his home with family by his side. He was born October 11, 1945 in Cambridge, England, the son of Julian and Joy (Goddard) Voss. Dave grew up the son of an Air Force officer and lived in many places. He graduated High School in Papillion Nebraska. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1965 and served as a weapons control systems instructor for the F4 aircraft stationed in Colorado. Dave also served 1 tour in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in December 1968.
Upon completion of his service he settled in Burnsville, MN. He married Carolann Sherman on Sept 2, 1972 in Burnsville. They moved to Hibbing in 1974 where they raised their family. Dave retired from MinnTac in 2004 at the age of 59. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post #8510.
Dave is survived by his wife: Carol; sons: Michael (Kim Brletich), Nolan (Tricia), and Kelvin (Karla Spanier); brother: Steve (Barb); sisters: Jude (Franz), and Chris (Allen); and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father in-law; and his sister in-law.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the 2:00 pm Memorial Service Saturday, December 1, 2012, in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Rod Tuomi will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Hibbing Food Shelf.
