Dawn Erleen Ann Erickson, age 60, longtime resident of Hibbing, died peacefully in her home on Monday, December 14, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 8, 1949 in Arlington, MN the daughter of Earl G. and Dolores H. (Alwin) Bandelin. She graduated from Arlington-Green Isle High School, and went on to graduate from Mankato Commercial College. She was united in marriage to Walter Roland Erickson on July 11, 1970 in Arlington, MN.
Dawn was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Hibbing where she sang in the Church Choir and Worship Team, and served as a deaconess. She was also involved in several Bible Study groups over the years. She worked at the Duluth Clinic in Hibbing for 14 years.
Dawn is survived by her husband: Roland; her children: Steven (Karin) Erickson of Hibbing, Rebecca (Bret) Brown of Elk River, MN, Michael (Shannon) Erickson of Thief River Falls, MN, and Timothy Erickson of Badger, MN; a brother: Roger (Debra) Bandelin of Grand Rapids, MN; sisters: Merry Kay Bandelin of Arlington, MN, and Lynne (Richard) Meyer of Bovey, MN; her mother: Dolores Bandelin of Arlington, MN; seven grandchildren: Peter, Brenna, Eli, Payton, Parker, Bailey, and Sonjia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father: Earl Bandelin, and her sister: Janell Mathews.
Visitation will be Friday, December 18, 2009 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home, and will continue from 11:00 am until the 12:00 noon service Saturday, December 19, 2009 in the Hibbing Alliance Church. Reverends Kevin L. Norton and Tim Maki will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the Harris Cemetery in Grand Rapids. Memorials are preferred.
