Delano Anthony "Del" Kepler, age 76 of Hibbing passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011 with his family at his side in the Heritage Manor Health Care Center in Chisholm. He was born January 5, 1935 in Hibbing, the son of Anthony and Selma (Lindgren) Kepler, and was a lifelong resident of Hibbing. Del was a graduate of Hibbing High School Class of 1953 and of the Hibbing Junior College Class of 1958. He served his Country in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1956. Del was employed at the Ace Hardware Store, Radko Iron, drove school bus for TacTran and attended First Lutheran Church.
Del is survived by children: Robert (Mary Ann) Kepler of Hibbing, Kathy (Gerald) Leonard, Sr. of Fenton, MO, Lisa Kepler of Maple Grove, MN, Greg Kepler of Hibbing, Lori (Chris Koehler) Kepler of Hibbing, Thomas Kepler of Hibbing, and Kimberly Kepler of California; grandchildren: Amber Fryklund, Martine Kepler, Noel Kepler, Nick Kepler, Ashley Matthews, Gerry Leonard, Jr., Jackie Kepler, Marin Iozzo, and Thomas Jacob "TJ" Kepler; great-granddaughter: Lilly Petersen; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Willard, Gerald, and Lee Kepler.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 3, 2011 from 12 Noon until the 1 p.m. Funeral Service in the Anderson-Daniels Funeral Home Chapel in Hibbing. Pastor John Dietz will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hibbing Park Maple Hill Cemetery.
