Dolores I. Flynn, age 92, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Thursday, January 08, 2015, at the Fairview University Medical Center in Hibbing. She was born March 1, 1922, in Hibbing the daughter of Frank A. and Golden A. (Boucher) Gustafson. She graduated from Hibbing High School and went on to attend Hibbing Jr. College. Dolores was united in marriage to James C. Flynn December 19, 1940, at the First Lutheran Church in Hibbing.
Dolores worked as a bookkeeper for Montgomery Ward, Jyring & Whiteman, and Mesaba Motors. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the Choir, the Order of Eastern Star, Job's Daughters, and BPW – serving as past president. She enjoyed making Christmas ornaments, sewing, and gardening. She made the best spaghetti sauce!
Dolores is survived by her son: Dennis, of Hibbing; and her brother: Frank Gustafson of Cloquet.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: James; and two brothers: Merwin James "Budd", and Charles Gustafson.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the 1:00 P.M. Funeral Service Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at the First Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Pastor Ben Schori will officiate. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
