Obituary

Dolores Mary Strand, age 87 of Virginia died Wednesday, April 6, 2011 in St. Michael's Health and Rehabilitation Center in Virginia. She was born July 29, 1923 in Virginia the daughter of Martin and Alice (Lemieux) Virshek and was a graduate of Virginia High School. Dolores married Grant Lee Strand on January 19, 1940 in Virginia and was a lifelong Virginia resident. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was a homemaker. Dolores was a member, and former officer of the Virginia Women's Bowling Association; enjoyed fishing, her lake place on Namakan, trips to Las Vegas, and family get-togethers.
Dolores is survived by children: Barbara (Ted) King of Mpls., Butch (Gloria) Strand of Virginia, Susan Berglund of Mt. Iron, Marcia (Dave) Bergquist of Mt. Iron, and Judy (John) Seurer of Virginia; siblings: Alice (Bobby) Foster of California and Martin (Joanne) Virshek of Mpls; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She wad preceded in death by her parents; husband Grant in 2007; son: Steven Allan Strand; grandsons: David Boitz and Jeffrey Boitz; and sister: Virginia Payne.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2011 in Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia. Reverend Father John O'Donnell will officiate. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Virginia.
