Biography
Don Roland Roddy, age 70, longtime resident of Iron, died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at St. Michael's Health and Rehabilitation Center in Virginia. He was born August 25, 1940 in New Orleans, LA the son of James and Una (Faucheaux) Roddy. He graduated from High School and went on to serve in the US Air Force. He was united in marriage to Constance Jean Maloney on June 22, 1965.
Don worked as a train operator for LTV Steel for 30 years. He enjoyed square dancing, and he loved to sing.
He is survived by his daughters: Dawn (Michael) Breen of Tower, and Sandra (Dan Danielson) of Moundsview, MN; two granddaughters: Bridget and Colleen Breen; and two brothers: Earl Roddy and Harry Roddy, both of Marrero, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Connie; and his sister-in-law: Janet Roddy.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the 1:00 pm funeral service Tuesday, October 5, 2010 in the United Methodist Church in Eveleth. The Reverend Dot Bull will officiate. Interment will be in the Forbes Cemetery.
