Donald E. Olds, age 60, longtime resident of Hibbing, MN, and formerly of Chisholm, MN, died Monday, September 23, 2024, at Aspirus Health – St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, MN.  He was born September 2, 1964, in Chisholm, MN, the son of Edward and Shirley (Handeland) Olds.  He was a graduate of Chisholm High School.  A career veteran and Gulf War Veteran, Donald served in the US Navy and was stationed in Japan and many other countries.  Donald was united in marriage to Mayumi Nakagawa in Japan.

Donald is survived by his wife: Mayumi; brothers: Michael (Alice) Olds of Hibbing, Dennis (Nancy) Olds of Hibbing, and Daniel Olds of Balkan, MN; mother-in-law: Sigeko Nakagawa of Japan; brother-in-law: Takao Nakagawa of Japan; and numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: sister: Lois Halberg; and brother: David Olds.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the 1:00 p.m. Memorial Service Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Chisholm Baptist Church.  The Reverend Dan Erickson will be the officiant.  Inurnment will be in the Chisholm Cemetery.
