Edward James Cox, Jr., age 82, lifelong resident of Hibbing and Side Lake, died Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Chris Jensen Nursing Home in Duluth. He was born October 26, 1933, in Hibbing the son of Edward, Sr. and Anna Cox. He graduated from Hibbing High School. Edward was united in marriage to Dorothy Mattson on June 2, 1954, in Hibbing.

A Veteran of the US Army, Edward served during the Korean War. He worked as a Custodian at Hibbing High School. He enjoyed woodworking.

Edward is survived by his wife: Dorothy of Hibbing; his daughter: Patricia Fink of Hibbing; four grandchildren: Jeremy, Derek, Andrew, and Rachel; eight great-grandchildren: Aspen, Audrey, Sophie, Keeghen, Beverly, Tyrus, Tyler, and Aiden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: his sister: June Chapel; and his daughter: Jeannette Maslowski (2004).

It was Edward's wish that there be no funeral.
