Edward Wesley Yanko, age 57, longtime resident of Hibbing, died Monday, March 7, 2011 in his home. He was born August 11, 1953 in Hibbing, the son of Clifford and Faye (Ganzer) Yanko. He was a graduate of Hibbing High School. Ed had worked for US Steel. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hibbing. He enjoyed watching sports – especially baseball.
Ed is survived by two daughters: Amanda (Jerel) Markovich of Bovey, MN, and Melissa Pierce of Hibbing; a sister: Debbie (Mike) Jarvi of Side Lake, MN; and four grandchildren: Andrea, Emma, and Danny Markovich, and Nicholas Pierce.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 noon until the 1:00 funeral service Thursday, March 10, 2011 in the Grace Lutheran Church in Hibbing. The Reverend Steve Breitbarth will officiate. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
