Eileen Ann Maratta, age 87 of Virginia, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 in the Virginia Care Center. She was born December 7, 1928 in Gaylord, MN the daughter of Charles and Lorna (Sylvester) Engdahl, and grew up in the Mankato area. Eileen married Jay N. Maratta on September, 1951 in Mankato and they lived in New York for a few years prior to being longtime Virginia, MN residents. She was employed by Brown Drug and later by K-Mart. Eileen enjoyed scrapbooking, gardening, travelling, and was a Big Band "groupie". She cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Eileen is survived by her daughters: Jaleen (Michael) O'Connor of Virginia and Landa (Allan) Berry of Elk River; siblings: Duane (Christina) Engdahl of Phoenix, AZ and Coleen (Joel) Giradin of Cannon Falls, MN; grandchildren: Brea (Timothy) Applen, Eric (Tonya) O'Connor, and Jake Berry; step-grandchildren: Kristina (Travis) Carlson and Tracey (Spencer) Oates; great-grandchildren: Owen & Mila O'Connor, Tyler & Trevor Applen, and Landen & Talley Oates; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Jay in 2010 and son: Dannel in 2013.

A graveside service will be held at the Resurrection Cemetery in St. Peter at a later date.
