Eva Moody, age 90, longtime resident of Hibbing died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 in the Hillcrest Alice Assisted Living Facility, in Hibbing. She was born December 17, 1918 in Chisholm, MN the daughter of Frank and Helen (Paraska) Slakanich. She graduated from Chisholm High School. Eva was united in Marriage to Arthur F. Moody on April 26, 1941 in Hibbing.
Eva worked as a homemaker, and was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Eva is survived by two sons: Douglas (Joanne) Moody of Blaine, MN, and Brian (Susan) Moody of Side Lake, MN; three grandchildren: Janelle, Richard, and Diana Moody; three sisters: Lorraine Mullin of Philadelphia, Helen Erickson of Hibbing, and Olga Harvey of Edina; and several nieces and nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Arthur; two sisters: Ann Person, and Mildred Kangas; and two brothers: George and Michael Slakanich.
A private memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, August 14, 2009 in the Wesley United Methodist Church in Hibbing. Reverend Marva Jean Hutchens will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Chisholm Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Wesley United Methodist Church.
