Eva Janesich Stenglein died April 21, 2010, in Tucson, Arizona. She was born in Eveleth, Minnesota, February 5, 1916. She graduated from Chisholm High School in 1932. She married Homer H. Stenglein. who preceded her in death in 1979.
She had been a member of the Hibbing Hospital Auxiliary and served two terms as the president. She also volunteered in the One-to-One Project at the Moose Lake State Hospital for three years. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the Lady Foresters.
She is survived by her three daughters: Judith (Kirt) Schlander of Santa Rosa, California, Susan (Terry) Jacobson of Fountain Hills, Arizona, and Jan (Scott) Draper of Tucson, Arizona. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one step-great grandson.
A memorial service for Eva will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church in Hibbing. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will be the celebrant. Inurnment will follow at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. The family prefers donations be made to the Southern Arizona Head & Neck Cancer Support Group, 9573 East Whetstone Mountain Street, Tucson, AZ 85749.
