Mae (Flora) Ogren, age 100, a long time resident of Hibbing, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in McKinney, Texas where she had been living near her son Dennis Ogren.
She was born in Carson Lake, MN on May 1, 1909 the daughter of Carrie and Spencer Sanders, grew up in Pool Location – Hibbing, and attended Hibbing schools. She was married to Vern Axel Ogren on October 1, 1938.
Mae is survived by two sons: Ronald Ogren of Redondo Beach, Ca, and Dennis Ogren of Plano, TX; daughter-in-law: Linda (Dennis) Ogren; four grandchildren: Jonathan Ogren, Jennifer Ogren Nguyen, Julie Ogren Parrent and Heather Ogren; three great-grandsons: Nathan Parrent, Crescent Ogren and Simon Ogren; one great-granddaughter: Haley Parrent; sister-in-law Freda (Clyde) Sanders, and many nieces, nephews, great- nieces, nephews, great-great nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern, in August, 1987; daughter-in-law Margaret Ann (Ronald) Ogren; her parents: Spencer and Carrie Sanders; five sisters: Persis (Albert) Kumm, Mable (Harry) Hart, Alma (Emil) Erickson, Nettie (John) Samson, and Lilly (Eli) Christianson: and four brothers: Henry (Ruth) Sanders, Leonard (Mae) Sanders, Clyde (Freda) Sanders, and Gordon (Rose) Sanders.
Mae was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hibbing where she has been a member for over 85 years. A Memorial Service to celebrate Mae Ogren's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 in the First Presbyterian Church in Hibbing. Pastor Jim Deters will officiate. Spring Inurnment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
