Florence Louise Peterson, age 89 of Duluth and longtime resident of Cotton, went to meet her Loving Savior, Jesus, face-to-face, at View Crest Health Center in Duluth on Sunday, February 22, 2009. She was born in Duluth on April 23, 1919, the daughter of William and Christine Peterson. She attended Cotton high school and was a graduate of Northwestern Bible College in Minneapolis. Florence and Earl Levine Peterson were united in marriage on September 27, 1947 in Cotton. She enjoyed many years of ministering at the many Bible camps, summer Bible schools, and playing guitar during Sunday school programs. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, playing piano, and her cat, Olivia.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Peterson of Shoreview, MN, Sharon Hunt of Cotton, MN, Sheila (Charles) Koepke of Zim, MN, and Larry (Cathy) Peterson of Cotton, MN; grandchildren, Misty Koepke, Lonny Koepke, Hannah McCabe, Justus Peterson, Jordan Hunt, and Lyle Hunt; and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl; three brothers; and three sisters.
A gathering time for family and friends will be Saturday, February 28, 2009, one hour prior to the 11:00 a.m. Celebration of Life service at Hope Evangelical Church in Cotton. Spring inurnment will be in the Cotton Lakeview Cemetery.
