Florence M. Ulicsni, age 77, longtime resident of Mt. Iron died Saturday, January 03, 2015, at Essentia Health – Virginia. She was born March 2, 1937, in Virginia the daughter of Ernest and Anna (Nordstrom) Johnson. She graduated from Virginia High School and went on to receive her X-Ray Technician Certification from St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth. She was united in marriage to William J. Ulicsni on November 22, 1958, in Virginia.
Florence worked as an X-Ray Technician for more than 25 years at the East Range Clinic. She attended the First Baptist Church in Virginia. Florence enjoyed reading, knitting, crossword puzzles and gardening, and was especially fond of the community around their cabin on Black Duck Lake.
Florence is survived by her husband: Bill; her three children: Steven (Eileen) Ulicsni of Brooklyn Park, MN, Barbara (Jack) Rettker of Alpharetta, GA, and Thomas Ulicsni of Mt. Iron, MN; four grandchildren: Christopher "CJ" Ulicsni, Tiffany Ulicsni, Sarah Rettker, and Michael Rettker; her sisters: Regina Johnson of Ely, MN and Catherine (Burt) Grover of Bellingham, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and nine brothers.
A Celebration of Florence's Life will be held for family and friends Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain Iron Community Center.
